There are several required trainings for graduate students, as well as many other opportunities to advance your academic and professional skills and network with professors and peers outside of classes. Thesis & Dissertation Information Sessions

Thesis and dissertation format information sessions are held several times during the school year for doctoral and MS/MA plan A students (plan B student papers are not reviewed by the School of Graduate Studies). These sessions provide a thorough survey of USU thesis and dissertation format requirements and guidelines, journal and other departmental format options, and tools that may be useful in the preparation of a thesis or dissertation including the publication guide.

Graduate Training Series

The Graduate Training Series is a workshop aimed at enhancing students’ early professional skills. GrTS covers topics such as academic mentor/mentee relationships, mental health resources, finding a job outside academia, developing presentation skills, and funding your research.
