We are so happy you are thinking of joining the Aggie family as a graduate student! Before you apply there are a few things to keep in mind.
To be eligible for graduate school at Utah State University, all applicants must hold the appropriate preliminary degrees from an accredited institution by the time of their program start date.
We recommend domestic students apply 6-8 weeks before their application deadline and that international students apply 12-16 weeks before their application deadline.

To help you apply, we’ve put together the following step-by-step guides:
Applying as a Nonmatriculated/Non-Degree Seeking Student
- If an applicant does not intend to pursue a graduate degree, they should apply through the undergraduate Admissions Office as a nonmatriculated student.
- Applicants applying for summer 2026 or fall 2026 will need to create an account and choose Non-degree Seeking Application.
- Applicants applying for spring 2027 and forward will create an account. While creating the account, they will choose “Undergraduate” as Level of Study and “All Other Non-Degree Seeking, Undergraduate” under “I am interested in studying”.
Note: USU requires additional identity verification from all non-degree seeking students to protect their personal information and comply with federal regulations. A link to a secure third-party service will be sent to them after they submit their application.
