Human Development and Family Studies
I am Ph.D. student in Human Development and Family Studies; I love researching new topics in my field, reading studies, traveling, and immersing myself in different cultures.
Why I Love Being a Grad Student at USU:
I love being a graduate student at USU because of the strong connections within my department, where I get to work alongside brilliant mentors and peers, exchanging ideas and continuously learning from each other.
Taylor Hansen
Civil and Environmental Engineering
I am a master’s student in the Civil and Environmental Engineering program at Utah State University, focusing on geotechnical engineering. I enjoy how closely my studies connect to fieldwork and real-world applications, making the work both practical and rewarding.
Why I Love Being a Grad Student at USU:
I love being a graduate student at USU because the professors are truly invested in their students’ success, and the smaller class sizes create a more personalized learning experience. Living in Logan has also been a highlight, I love the small-town atmosphere and easy access to outdoor activities. Whether it’s heading up the canyon, skiing, or simply walking around town, it creates a nice balance between academics.

I am doctoral student in the College of Education & Human Services. After many years in the classroom, I value this opportunity to ask complex questions and explore meaningful solutions to real-world challenges through research and collaboration in such a supportive environment.

Mathematics and Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences
I am a PhD student pursuing an Interdisciplinary Studies degree in Mathematics and Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences. My research is driven by my desire to build a more inclusive, empathetic, and socially aware approach to mathematics—one that honors and incorporates students’ diverse experiences, cultures, and identities. Outside of academia, I enjoy reading and playing the piano.
