Spencer was born and raised in Logan, Utah, where he grew up in the culture of Utah State University. From a young age, he showed a strong aptitude for mathematics and science, which led him to pursue engineering at USU. Throughout his academic career, Spencer developed a deep appreciation for learning and problem-solving that continues to shape his career. Outside the classroom, Spencer enjoys a wide range of activities. His interests include skiing, mountain biking, boating, running, and playing soccer. In addition to his love for outdoor recreation, he has a strong passion for music and enjoys singing and playing the piano. Spencer graduated cum laude from the College of Engineering with an emphasis in Aerospace, demonstrating academic excellence. He further broadened his skill set by completing a minor in Computer Science. During his undergraduate studies, he gained industry experience through an internship at Autoliv, where he worked in research and development. After earning his bachelor’s degree, Spencer joined Northrop Grumman, analyzing rocket dynamics. He later returned to USU to pursue a master’s degree, and before completing it, he was invited by Dr. Harris to begin a PhD in Aerospace Engineering. He currently conducts research in satellite Guidance and Control.
