Applied Economics

Man-Keun Kim is an accomplished applied economist, specializing in the field of Regional Eco- nomics, with sub-specialties in Agribusiness, Natural Resources, and Environmental Economics. Graduating from Texas A&M University in 2004, he embarked on a postdoctoral position at the Joint Global Change Research Institute, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, focusing on climate change economics. Following a successful three-year tenure, Kim embraced a faculty position in the Department of Re- source Economics at the University of Nevada-Reno (UNR), delving deeper into Regional Economics and fostering collaborations through the University Center for Economic Development (UCED) at UNR. In 2010, he made a significant move to the Department of Applied Economics at Utah State University, where he’s been a dedicated faculty member ever since. Beyond academia, Kim cherishes family life, sharing his journey with a lovely wife and child. He finds passion and relaxation on the tennis court, showcasing his enthusiasm for the sport. In leisure moments, he enjoys the cinematic experience, making movie-watching a delightful pastime. Kim’s diverse interests and professional contributions make him a valued member of the academic community at Utah State University.
