Graduate Research and Creative Opportunity (GRCO) grants provide a $1,000 grant to support original research, scholarship, or creative work by USU graduate students with the guidance of a faculty member. Proposals include requests for funds to cover the costs of equipment, supplies, and project-related travel.

Once awarded, students have one year to complete their research and submit a report on the research conducted.


Inclusive Excellence Fellowship

Who: Graduate students interested in building diversity, equity, and inclusion

Funding Amount: Up to $10,000 (per academic year)

Duration: One year (renewable based on performance)

The Inclusive Excellence Fellowship is for any graduate student who wishes to propose and carry out activities that build diversity, equity, and/or inclusion in their graduate program or among the graduate student body. The fellowship lasts for one academic year (fall and spring semesters) with the possibility to renew.

Equivalent of a 0.25 FTE fellowship, applicants are expected to dedicate an average of 10 hours per week working towards their proposed activities. Recipients of the fellowship will meet with the Vice Provost of Graduate Studies 1-2 times each month throughout the fellowship to discuss progress on goals.

Please note: This fellowship is not designed to act as graduate students' only funding. Students who do not have other sources of funding are unlikely to be selected for the fellowship. Additionally, international graduate students should keep in mind they cannot go above a .50 FTE. 


Supplemental Language Tuition

Who: Graduate students taking world language classes as part of their approved Program of Study

The School of Graduate Studies offers tuition support for students taking world language classes as part of their approved Program of Study. Language courses on an approved Program of Study indicate the supervisory committee has determined the language training is integral to the degree program. 


Employee Tuition Reduction Benefit

Who: USU employees, their spouses, and their dependent children 
Funding Amount: 50% of tuition
Duration: Unlimited

Current Utah State University employees, their spouses, and their dependent children may qualify for a 50% tuition reduction in accordance with USU policy 350. Spouses and dependents of retired or deceased employees may qualify as well. 

Once awarded, students have one year to complete their research and submit a report on the research conducted.
