Dr. Tyler Renshaw is an Associate Professor and Co-Director of the School Psychology Specialization in the Psychology Department at Utah State University. Tyler’s research aims to improve the accessibility and quality of school-based mental health services. He is particularly interested in validating brief rating scales for measuring mental health and evaluating the effects of mindfulness-based interventions.

To date, Tyler has published 70+ scholarly works that have 3,600+ citations. Tyler holds a PhD in Combined Clinical/Counseling/School Psychology from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He is a past Editor-in-Chief of Assessment for Effective Intervention, a current Associate Editor of School Psychology Review, and a previous recipient of the Lightner Witmer Award from APA Division 16.

Tyler is a nationally certified and state-credentialed school psychologist. Tyler has been faculty at USU for 4 years. Prior to USU, he was faculty in the Psychology Department at Louisiana State University for 5.5 years. At USU, he teaches graduate seminars, supervises a graduate clinical practicum, and directs a graduate research lab focused around school-based mental health services. Tyler is the primary mentor for 10 current graduate students in the School Psychology Specialization (8 PhD, 2 EdS) and has served on 100+ graduate student committees.
