Lyle Arnett

College of Science

Physics

Originally from Texas, Lyle Arnett is a doctoral student in the Department of Physics, conducting research in theoretical physics under the guidance of Dr. Charles Torre. His work involves the study of methods of calculating conserved quantities in gravitational field theory via differential geometry. During his time at USU, Lyle has taught many different courses for his department and instructed hundreds of students both online and in person. His main teaching goal is to help his students overcome any intimidation or anxiety they feel about the difficulty of the material and to instill the self-confidence they need to succeed in his classroom and beyond. Following graduation, Lyle plans to pursue a position at a research university and to continue his work in theoretical physics while also continuing to teach courses where his current experience will prove to be invaluable. In his free time, Lyle enjoys staying physically active, photography, cooking, drawing, and spending time with his family.
