Kris Franzmann is a sixth-year doctoral student in the School Psychology Program at USU, studying under the mentorship of Dr. Tyler Renshaw. His research focuses on school mental health and improving youth access to high-quality mental health support. Specifically, Kris' research interests include examining novel methods for enhancing access to mental health services for underserved youth and families such as single-session interventions, component analyses of evidence-based interventions, and systems change in schools. Throughout his time at USU, Kris has demonstrated teaching versatility across in-person, online, and broadcast formats. His teaching experience includes multiple sections of Psychological Disorders, General Psychology, and Social Psychology. He also serves as a program instructor in the School Counseling Program, where he teaches Evidence-Based Practice: School Intervention. In Spring 2025, his teaching responsibilities will include the undergraduate course Social Psychology and School Mental Health II, a graduate course in the School Psychology Program, while continuing his service role in the School Counseling Program. He will return to teaching in the School Counseling Program in Summer 2025. He has also served as a guest lecturer for General Psychology and Careers in Psychology courses. Following graduation, Kris aspires to pursue an academic career focused on research, teaching psychology, and mentoring future generations of students.
