Plants, Soils, & Climate

Noah is a PhD student in the Department of Plants, Soils, and Climate at Utah State University. He grew up in rural Central Wisconsin teaching his community about the roots of their local food systems and sharing his deep love for the land. At the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, Noah's passion for teaching flourished as he guided students through courses in plant biology and organic chemistry, and mentored students in advanced scientific writing. Noah earned degrees in biochemistry and biology, and he received the highest recognition of achievement at the University, the Albertson Medallion, for exemplifying outstanding qualities as a leader, scholar, and citizen. At Utah State, Noah has expanded his doctoral research on precision plant fertilization by creating PSC 2900: Hydroponics, a highly regarded course that he has taught for over three years. His independent course development and undergraduate mentoring are unique among graduate students in the PSC department. He also educates students of all ages about the importance of agriculture through monthly laboratory tours and research seminars. Noah believes that "No matter the problem, education is the solution." He will graduate in spring 2025 and become a teaching professor in controlled environment agriculture.
