Casey Trout is a master's student in the Environment & Society program, having earned her bachelor's degree from Utah State University in 2019. During fall semester 2024, she served as the instructor for ENVS4130 – Natural Resource Recreation Policy and Planning, a broadcast course. In her role as course instructor, she emphasized practical applications by incorporating case studies, official documents, and current management challenges into the curriculum, while also bringing in guest speakers to enrich the learning experience. Her excellence in teaching was recognized with the 2024 Quinney College of Natural Resources Graduate Student Teacher of the Year award. As an undergraduate, Casey demonstrated her commitment to education by serving as an Undergraduate Teaching Fellow for multiple courses: two semesters for ENVS1350 – Introduction to Environmental Science and one semester for ENVS5000 – Environmental Nonprofit & Volunteer Management. She consistently exceeded expectations by voluntarily preparing class presentations and taking on additional responsibilities to enhance student success. Additionally, she worked as a Writing Fellow for four semesters, where she excelled at providing detailed and constructive feedback to help students improve their writing skills.
