Nicholas Singleton is a finance professional, educator, and mentor with a strong background in investment banking and venture capital. He earned his degree in Finance from Utah State University, where he developed a strong foundation in financial analysis, valuation, and business strategy. Following graduation, Nick began his career in lower middle market investment banking, advising business owners and investors on mergers and acquisitions across a wide range of industries. His work in M&A provided hands-on experience with deal structuring, financial modeling, due diligence, and transaction execution. Nick later transitioned into venture capital, where he spent five years working with an early-stage fund focused on supporting emerging companies and entrepreneurs. During this time, he evaluated investment opportunities, worked closely with founders, and helped guide portfolio companies through early growth and strategic decision-making. His experience in venture capital strengthened his passion for mentorship and education within the finance ecosystem. In 2022, Nick founded Old Main Ventures, a student-led investment fund at Utah State University created to provide students with hands-on experience in venture capital and private investing. The program allows students to apply classroom concepts to real-world investment decisions while gaining exposure to professional standards, teamwork, and analytical rigor. In addition to his professional and academic work, Nick serves on the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah and Kinect Capital, reflecting his commitment to mentorship, community involvement, and developing future leaders across Utah’s business and nonprofit communities.
