Graduate Student Orientation
Designed to introduce new graduate students to graduate education at Utah State University
Online Orientation Course (Required)
All incoming graduate students are required to take an online orientation course. This orientation provides an overview of graduate education at USU, a checklist for new students, grad school best practices, and campus resources. Students are encouraged to complete all the modules before the beginning of the semester, but all materials will remain accessible throughout their time at USU. Students should contact their graduate program coordinator (GPC) with any questions.
In-Person Orientation
The School of Graduate Studies offers an optional in-person orientation session for students located on or near the Logan campus. The in-person orientation supplements, rather than replaces, the online orientation. Student’s will hear from faculty, staff, and the Vice Provost of Graduate Studies on how to make the best of time in graduate school.
The 2022 in-person orientation session will take place on Thursday, August 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by an ice cream social for all graduate students. The in-person session will include breakout sessions on grad school resources and best-practices, lunch, and cross-disciplinary networking opportunities.
